Country singer Waylon Jennings says he'll perform at the prison where a friend, former Sheriff Fate Thomas, is serving five years for corruption.
"We're going down there and sing for his buddies. We love Fate. He's our friend always," Jennings said. The concert at the Fort Worth, Texas, federal prison is scheduled for April 12.Jennings, known for such songs as "Luckenbach, Texas," performed at many of Thomas' political fund-raisers.
Thomas pleaded guilty in July to theft, fraud and conspiracy stemming from his use of government employees and materials in the renovation of his condominium, lakefront cabin and boat.
