David George Atwood, 37, died Monday, March 11, 1991 in Logan, Utah at the home of his parents, of cancer.
Born in Logan, Utah on May 15, 1953, the son of George M. and Joyce Godfrey Atwood. He married Jeanine Hammond on September 16, 1982 in the Logan LDS Temple. He graduated from Logan High School, Utah Tech College in Provo, and Utah State University with a BS Degree and an MS Degree in Human Resource Administration. While at USU he was a volunteer for the foreign student office. He was employed with the LDS Employment Service as a placement specialist. He has lived in North Ogden, Utah for the past six years, and the rest of his life he lived in Logan, Utah. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He had served a mission in the Oakland, Fresno, California mission from 1974-1976. He also enjoyed being involved in missionary work, served as a stake missionary, and was a Ward Mission Leader. He had served in various church callings, including a guide on Temple Square, and a temple worker.He is survived by his wife, Jeanine, North Odgen; two daughters, Angie and Jenny Atwood, North Ogden; his parents, George M. and Joyce Atwood, Logan; two brothers and spouses, Michael B. and Cheryl Atwood, Logan; Stephen M. and Corinne Atwood, Tremonton; his grandmother, Alta R. Godfrey, Logan. Preceded in death by a brother, Gary D. Atwood, and four grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, at 12 noon in the Cache West Stake Center, 125 West 600 North, Logan, with Bishop Stephen Felt, North Ogden 19th Ward, conducting. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Cache West Stake Center, Thursday morning from 10:30 to time of services. Interment, Logan Cemetery.
