BYU-Hawaii finished the basketball season with a 20-12 record, which was good enough for second place in District 29, for four players to make post-season teams, and for its coach to make top honors.

Ken Wagner, who moved to the island two years ago after a five-year stay at Dixie College, was named District 29 Coach of the Year.Among his players, Bruce Koelliker was named to the First Team; Barry Hardy and David Reeves were named to the Second Team; and Darwin Russell received honorable mentions.
