Thomas Boekweg, age 60, died March 5, 1991 at his home in Provo, Utah of heart failure.

He was born July 30, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Uuldrik and Hiltje VanderVeen Boekweg. He married Velda Kay Kunzler, September 3, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He received his education in the Ogden City schools and attended Weber State College and Utah Barber College. He was an active member of the LDS Church and was a High Priest in the Provo Edgemont 21st Ward. He had served two stake missions. He taught in the Priesthood Quorums and served in Sunday School and other auxiliaries. He was geneology chairman and was an active temple worker. He had served on the board of directors of the Relief Mine Company. He has lived in Willard and the Logan area and for the last 18 years he has resided in Provo. His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy.He is survived by wife, Provo; nine children, Mrs. Glenn (Julie Kay) Dixon, Ogden; Uuldrik Boekweg and wife, Susan Nash, Mrs. Daniel (Hiltje) Todd, Thomas Boekweg, Jr. and wife, Kari Chipman, all of Salem; David Boekweg and wife, Sherri Gunn, Joseph Boekweg and wife, Dawnelle McGettigan, Paul Boekweg and wife, Marilee McGettigan; Johnathan Boekweg, Grace Ann Boekweg, all of Provo; 28 grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Abraham Boekweg, Riverdale; Uuldrik Boekweg, Salt Lake City; Richard Dee Boekweg, LaPalma, California; Mrs. Clarence (Grace) Rogers, Ogden; Hilda Wilkins, Provo.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 1991, 11 a.m., Edgemont 21st Ward, 555 East 3230 North, Provo. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center, Friday, 6-8 p.m. or at the Ward Chapel on Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment: Eastlawn Memorial Hills, Provo.
