Brigham Street Trolley service will increase and several Utah Transit Authority routes in the Salt Lake area, Ogden and Provo will change beginning April 11.
And the authority's Ski Bus Service to area ski resorts will end on April 10.The trolley will begin running every 15 minutes between noon and 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. On May 15, operating hours for the tourist-oriented transportation will extend until 10 p.m.
Some changes will also be made to the trolley's route from the Trolley Square shopping complex to Temple Square. Instead of looping the block just east of Temple Square, the trolley will continue south on West Temple, run just east of the Salt Palace and through to Fifth South.
Bus routes that will be altered or rescheduled include: Salt Lake Route 13, Canyon Rim; Route 14, East Millcreek; Route 23, State Capitol; Route 29, Wasatch Boulevard: Route 32, Cottonwood Heights; Route 52, University of Utah; Night Route 124, Sandy; and Route 55, U. of U.- Weber College.
Ogden area routes that will be changed include: Route 1, South Washington Boulevard; Route 3, Weber College; Route 4, West Ogden and Roy; Route 12, North Ogden and Pleasant View; and Route 18, Simoron Park. These routes will be rescheduled to extend the city's daytime service schedule to replace the now-separate night schedule.
Four additional trips will be made between the Provo-Orem area and Salt Lake City. The new runs will depart from the Provo-Orem area at 6:35 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. and depart from the Salt Lake area at 9:14 a.m. and 4:50 p.m.
On Saturday, buses will leave Provo and Orem for Salt Lake City at 8:53 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. and will leave Salt Lake City for Provo and Orem at 9:14 a.m., 10:37 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. The run from Salt Lake City to the Provo-Orem area leaving at 5:30 a.m. is being discontinued.
