Freshmen Shawn Bradley and Kenneth Roberts have told Brigham Young basketball coach Roger Reid they will begin two-year Mormon missions this summer.
Bradley, the team's 7-foot-6 center, originally planned to begin his mission after his freshman year, but said frequently during the season that he still was evaluating the matter.Bradley said Monday he hopes to begin his mission about June 1.
"I thought it was the best thing for me to do," he said.
Bradley had eight points during the last two regular-season games. "I don't know what I was thinking about at the end of the season, but I wasn't concentrating," he said.
Reserve forward Jeff Campbell, a 6-9 freshman from Alabama, has also indicated he'll be going on a mission.
