Tamara Wallenda says it took her three months to work up the nerve to tell her parents she wanted to work in a cage and not on a high wire.

The member of the circus family The Flying Wallendas decided four years ago that she'd rather be a trainer of exotic animals than an aerialist. She said her parents were not pleased.

"My parents felt so safe 50 feet up in the air, and then my mother screams at me to be careful with the cats," she said.

Several members of the Wallenda family have been killed or injured in falls.
