Utah should experience a slight cooling over the next two days as the small patches of tropical moisture now centered over the southern part of the state move out of the region.

William J. Alder, meteorologist in charge of the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service, said the greatest chances for precipitation on Thursday will be over the southern mountains and in the southwest corner of the state. He said northern areas of the state could have minimal amounts of rain and gusty winds.Temperatures Thursday should be from 90 to 100 with highs in the high 80s and low 90s on Friday. He said that trend should continue through the weekend.
