Members of the Cache County PTA Council want opponents of the proposed tax rollback initiatives to show their unity by displaying green ribbons.
"As parents, it's important to us that the initiatives be defeated because they threaten the quality of life for our children," PTA spokeswoman Sharrell Eames said this week. She said the group decided to use the color green in showing support because green signifies growing and "we want to keep Utah growing and green is also a positive color."
Eames said opponents of the initiatives are asked to hang a green ribbon wherever it is most visable.
"This could be on the front porch, mailbox, a tree or wherever it can be seen readily by the public," she said. "We think people will be surprised to see how many of us are not fooled by those advocating the huge tax cuts."
