Egypt's interior minister said Saturday the country's security organizations remained on high alert because of the continued threat of terrorist activity despite the end of the Persian Gulf war.

"Liberation of Kuwait does not mean relaxation or leniency of the security organizations in Egypt vis-a-vis danger threatening our internal front," Lt. Gen. Mohammed Abdelhalim Mussa told the official Middle East News Agency."We are still expecting terrorist attacks either from the Iraqi regime or from other Arab states," Mussa was quoted as saying.
