Davis County residents who want to register to vote in the Sept. 13 primary may register during the first week of September at the homes of their district registrars, County Clerk Glen Saunders said this week.

Absentee ballots for voters who will be gone during the election are now available, Saunders said.Voter registration at the county clerk's office closed Tuesday, Saunders said, but potential voters will be able to register Sept. 6-8 at their registrars' homes between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

A list of the registration agents, showing names, addresses, and telephone numbers, will be available in local newspapers next week, Saunders said, or through the county's election office, 451-3213.

Persons who are homebound but wish to vote by absentee ballot may send a written request to Davis County Clerk, Box 618, Farmington UT 84025. Saunders said that because a signed request must be on file, telephone requests cannot be honored.

Absentee ballots can be cast at the courthouse, Room 108, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., through Sept. 12.

Sample ballots have also been printed, Saunders said, and are available at the same time and place.
