A second round Friday of three-over-par by BYU has given it an 11 shot lead at the Guadalajara Intercollegiate golf tourney.

BYU's 590 is ahead of Cal-Santa Barbara's 601, Washington's 608 and Utah's 609 in the 85-degree weather site.The Cougars picked up nine shots over their opening day lead.

BYU's Mike Weir fired a team best 70, followed by John Johnson's 72. Johnson's 145 aggregate is in third place. Utah's Ross Marcano is in fifth place at 146.
