Seven Nephi residents were arrested Tuesday night and booked into Juab County Jail for distribution of controlled substances.

The arrests were made for sale or attempted sale of marijuana and a counterfeit substance purported to be methamphetamines (known on the street as speed). The seven were to be arraigned before Juab County Justice of the Peace Lane Harward. Bail was set at $20,000 each.Juab County Sheriff Dave Carter said all of the people were arrested for violations of the controlled substances act following an ongoing narcotics investigation, including undercover work, that started in February. The arrests were made about 8:55 p.m. Tuesday.

"Although the investigation is considered complete, there may be other charges pending," said Carter.
