Truck strikes W.V. tavern A tow-truck operator prepares to haul off the truck of a West Jordan motorist who slammed through a guardrail and into a tavern at 3321 S. Redwood Road about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Potolaka Talanoa, 36, 3616 Kentucky Drive, was driving south on Redwood Road when he lost control and plowed into the building. Talanoa was attempting to pass traffic in the left turn lane when he swerved between a bus and car, went into a slide and crashed through the guardrail, said West Valley police traffic investigator Ken Jarvis. Talanoa received multiple head and chest injuries and was taken to Pioneer Valley Hospital. He was later flown to University Hospital, where he was in fair condition early Thursday. The tavern wasn't open for business at the time of the accident.
