The president of the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce doesn't often receive mail from the U.S. Postal Service headquarters.

But when he complained about the recent reduction in the Orem Post Office's service hours, Steve Densley received a letter from postal headquarters saying it would look into the situation."It was a typical bureaucratic letter," Densley said. "We'll see what happens."

Densley said he had received complaints from various people and businesses in Orem about the new hours, which changed the post office's closing time from 6 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

But Densley said the post office has told him it has not received a large number of calls about the change.

"Now it is up to the people of Orem to do something," Densley said. If people are really upset, they need to let the post office know.
