Five Utahns have been elected to posts in state and regional professional societies for hospitals.

Ronald L. Bouck has been appointed regional director of the American Society for Health Care Marketing and Public Relations. Region 8 includes Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Bouck is director of communications and education for the Utah Hospital Association.Kenneth L. Johnson was elected president of the Utah Society for Healthcare Planning, Marketing and Public Relations. Johnson is assistant administrator at Lakeview Hospital Bountiful.

Other officers of the 32-member society include Jim Alvey, McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden, president-elect; Ronald Bouck, past president; William Moore, Jr., HCA St. Mark's Hospital, secretary/treasurer, and Sister Kathleen Riley, Holy Cross Hospital, member-at-large.

Bouck has been with the Utah Hospital Association for six years. Additionally, he has served in leadership roles in several health-care coalitions, conferences and allied organiztations. The American Society of Health Care Marketing and Public Relations is a Chicago-based organization serving the needs of professionals through nine regions.

Johnson was promoted to assistant administrator of Lakeview Hospital in August of last year. He previously served as marketing director. He also has been on the community relations staff of the Univeristy of Utah Health Sciences Center.
