Plays that have opened or will open this week along the Wasatch Front include:
- "CRITIC'S CHOICE," the Broadway comedy being staged by the Heritage Theatre company in Perry, just south of Brigham City.Gene K. Lott is directing the play about a New York critic whose second wife decides to write a play, after which he ends up with the dubious distinction of having to review the work.
(In 1963 the comedy was made into a movie with Lucille Ball and Bob Hope.)
Lott's cast includes Durward Ream, Kristi Baker Chase, Eric Brogan, Kathlyn Jeppesen, Carolyn B. Able, Rick Bouwhuis and Carrie Baugh.
The show opens Friday, March 1, and continues on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays through March 23 at 8 p.m.

- "MARY BEHUNE CRIES FREEDOM," a drama commemorating an outstanding black educator and founder of a Florida college that carries her name, will be presented as the annual Black History Dinner Theater presentation on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28 and March 1-2, at the Faith Temple Church Fellowship Hall, 1510 S. Richard St. (between Main and West Temple).
Proceeds from the production will benefit the Tender Loving Care Learning Center, 1035 Indiana Ave., and its Latchkey Children's Program. Admission is $12 for adults, $5 for children and $20 per couple.
The play begins at 8 p.m., preceded by dinner.

- "BACKWOODS ROMEO," an original comedy about a handsome backwoods country boy and his abrupt initiation into society, is playing at the Valley Center Playhouse, 700 N. 200 East, Lindon.
Director Harvey Taylor's cast includes Jerry Ferguson, Carole Haney, Bob Defende, Rosemary Samudu, Randy Schwartz, Jerri Schwartz, Janet Panhorst, Alecia Jackson, Deanne Kallas, Donna Fugual, Judy Goodman, Susan Cedarstrom and Maleene Steele.
Performances are Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 7:30 p.m. through March 25. For reservations, call 224-5310.
- CITY REP is extending its current production of "Robin Hood," with three additional performances on the Jester Stage (upstairs at the Utah Theatre, 148 S. Main St.).
"The show continues to be enormously popular with adults as well as children so we have decided to run it in repertory with `The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,' which opens on March 15," said City Rep Artistic Director Joanne M. Parker.
Newly added dates for "Robin Hood" are Saturday, March 9; Saturday, March 30, and Monday, April 8, all at 7:30 p.m.
Remaining dates for the show, including the new performances, are: Feb. 25 and 28, March 1, 9 and 30, and April 8.
