The Ballet West Conservatory will host a master class, to be taught by Violetta Boft, ballet mistress of BalletMet, Columbus, Ohio.

The class for advanced students will be held Saturday, March 2, from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Marriott Center for Dance at the University of Utah. There will be a fee of $10, and class size will be limited. For registration information, call 524-8305.Boft was born in the United States to Russian parents, who took her back to the Soviet Union in the early 1930s. There she graduated from the famed Bolshoi Ballet School, and was prima ballerina with the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Dachenko Lyric Theatre Ballet, touring in more than 18 countries. She was also a guest artist with the Bolshoi Ballet. Her Russian students have been awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in competition. She joined BalletMet in 1987.

Boft will also teach company class for Ballet West Feb. 25-Mar. 1.
