A 17-year-old Salt Lake City girl who fell 30 to 40 feet down a ravine near the mouth of Bell Canyon remains in critical condition at Alta View Hospital Wednesday morning.

Tammy Baker, 1515 S. 13th West, fell down a ravine near Bell Canyon Sunday and landed on a rock ledge in the water, according to Sandy police. She and a friend, Chuck Hellige, 20, of Sandy, had climbed to the top of a waterfall in the canyon when Baker slipped and fell about 7:45 p.m.Hellige climbed down from the ledge and pulled Baker from the water, then summoned help.

Baker suffered a fractured leg and several other injuries. Her condition had worsened from serious to critical Monday, a nursing supervisor said.
