People often forget that 4-H is a worldwide program.

Liz Gorham, assistant state 4-H leader at Utah State University, said applications are still being accepted for two 4-H programs with international focus. The Central American Peace Scholarship Program is a student exchange program.

"We are looking for host families for Costa Rican students from June 8 through Feb. 23, 1992. Prospective host families should have a 15- to 16-year-old teenager."

She said another program with international emphasis is 4-H World Focus '91 at the National 4-H Center in Washington, D.C., July 20-26.

World Focus '91 deals with international conflict resolution, human rights, U.S. foreign policy, international journalism and the changing face of Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.

Cost will be approximately $1,000, which includes lodging, transportation and most meals.

People interested in either program should apply at their county USU Extension office before March 1.
