The Utah Army National Guard's 144th Evacuation Hospital, stationed in the Saudi interior, had not received any casualties as of Monday evening Saudi time.
"There's a very positive feeling here. We hope (the ground action) will be over shortly. We haven't seen any wounded at our hospital," Staff Sgt. A.J. Walkowski told the Deseret News from Saudi Arabia. The field hospital has a staff of about 423 doctors, surgeons, nurses and technicians and can care for 400 patients at once. The hospital has been fully operational for several weeks and has been treating patients, but not casualties from the front, Walkowski said.
He said the hospital is under a news blackout so troops there are not able to get updated news about the progress of the fighting.
