The Silver Beaver award, the highest honor bestowed by a local Scout council, will be presented to 52 men and women at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in Symphony Hall.
For exceptional service to youths, the community and Scouting, the awards will be presented by the Great Salt Lake Council, Boy Scouts of America.President Thomas S. Monson, second counselor in the First Presidency, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the BSA's Executive Board, will speak at the program.
Kevin R. Watts and his wife, Myrle, will present the awards. Masters of ceremony will be Doug Miller of KSL Television and Mark Van Wagoner, KMGR Radio.
Friends and families of award recipients, which include Ruth B. Wright, Salt Lake City, second counselor in the LDS Church Primary general presidency, are invited to attend the program.
Seating is limited. Complimentary tickets are suggested and may be obtained at the Scout council's Service Center, 525 Foothill Drive.
