Outstanding students and distinguished alumni of the College of Engineering at Utah State University were recognized during Engineering Week last week.

Those honored as distinguished alumni at a reception and banquet Friday evening included Robert D. Cook, engineering manager for the Mineral and Industrial Business Center, Eimco Process Equipment Co.; Jack Keller, former head of the department of agricultural and irrigation engineering at USU and president of Keller and Associates; M. Larry Petersen, assistant superintendent of the Logan City School District; Sam Shiozawa, a professional engineer who is currently working as consultant with George Washington University, and Wendell Hardman, manager of the Ferrimagnetic Engineering Department, Components Division of the Watkins-Johnson Co.Faculty members in each department in the College of Engineering also selected outstanding seniors to represent their departments.

The students honored were Chad Clawson, son of Claine and Zada Clawson, Hyrum, electrical engineering department; Lance E. Houser, son of Don and Norma Houser, Cedar City, agricultural and irrigation engineering; Tanya A. Olsen, daughter of Janet R. Olsen and Dr. Edwin C. Olsen, Logan, mechanical engineering; Shaun Dean Stauffer, son of Steve Stauffer and Nadine Stauffer, Bennion, civil and environmental engineering; and Mark Merrill, son of Linda Merrill and Bill Merrill, Price, industrial technology and education.
