Community libraries in Delta and Heber City are recipients of $5,000 gifts from President and Mrs. Bush.
The president and his wife decided that money left over from the privately funded presidential inaugural should be given to libraries, according to Bobby Holt, co-chairman of the American Bicentennial Inaugural Committee. The committee selected two libraries in each state for gifts from the Bushes. The money is a "no strings attached" gift, to be used as library officials choose, said Debbie Greathouse, Delta's head librarian. The Delta library will spend it for automation. One project will be to computerize the card catalog.
