In a pair of doubleheaders, Mesa State took the openers and BYU baseball team the second games to split a four-game series in Grand Junction. Friday, Mesa State squeaked by 5-4, but BYU's nine hits and 13 runs won the nightcap. Saturday, Mesa's Dan DeLuche outdueled Y. hurler Rob Jensen 2-1 in the first game. Chris Cooper and Brian Simpson hit home runs in the sixth inning of the evening game to power BYU to a 7-2 win.
