Charles Rippon, age 81, passed away February 20, 1991 in Salt Lake City.
Born February 22, 1909 in Coalville, Utah, the son of Frank and Amelia Jones Rippon. Married Reve Lowe, October 2, 1931. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.Graduated from Utah State in 1931 with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. Member of Phi Kappa Phi. Worked as a professional engineer in Nevada, California, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers since 1947. Member of United States Committee On Large Dams since 1956. Member National Society of Professional Engineers and Utah Society of Professional Engineers. Member of the International Commission on Irrigation And Drainage. Worked for the Bureau of Reclamation for 33 years. He ended his carreer with the Bureau of Reclamation as Assistant Regional Director of Region Four. Completed his career in San Francisco as Assistant Project Coordinator of the Don Pedro Dam Project.
Survived by his wife; two daughters, Yvonne Sears, Casper, Wyoming; Suzanne Vaughan, Aurora, Colorado; one brother, Frank Elvin Rippon, Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren, David, Jeff, Rick, Becky and Valerie. One son, Charles Spencer Rippon, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 1991, 12 noon, Monument Park Eighth Ward, 1794 South Texas Street. Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, Friday, February 22, 6-8 p.m. and from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
