Elva Larain Fowlks Turner, age 71, died February 19, 1991 in a local hospital, following a long illness.

Born January 24, 1920 in Murray to Joseph M. and Margaret LeNora Sorenson Fowlks. Married Randall Bullock Turner, December 20, 1938, in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died December 2, 1983. Active member LDS Church. Served for many years in Primary and East Midvale and Taylorsville Wards. Treasurer of AARP Murray Chapter #402. Attended school at Liberty and Murray High.Survivors: sons and daughters, Ernest William "Bill", Salt Lake City; Randall Lee, currently serving U.S. Military in Germany; Vodis Renee Hammond, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Don (Norma Lynn) Rains, Bennion; four granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Hazel Wood, Mrs. Fred (LaRue) Lathrop, both West Valley; Kenneth Fowlks, Jimmie Fowlks, both Murray; two special sisters-in-law, Mrs. R. Dee (Elaine) Carpenter, Mrs. Alton (Elva) Orton. Preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 Noon, Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
