Janna VanBeekum Herbert, age 94, died Monday February 18, 1991 in Salt Lake City.
Born July 28, 1896 in Rhoon, The Netherlands to Cornelis and Hendrika Dykgraaf VanBeekum. Married Dirk Herbert February 9, 1921 in Rotterdam, Holland. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died January 2, 1965. She was an active member of the LDS Church having served as a Relief Society visiting teacher of 60 years. She loved good music and sang with the Netherlands Choir for over 20 years. She sang with the senior citizens Happy Singers until she was 91 years old. She loved to do beautiful handwork items for members of her family, the Relief Society and her many friends.She is survived by a son, Bartholameus Herbert and his wife Anne, Mountville, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Mrs. Richard G. (Hendrieka) Fox, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Peter VanBeekum; and a sister, Mrs. GerDubois, both of Holland.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 22, at 12 Noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Thursday evening 6-8 p.m., and Friday one hour prior to the services. Burial in Sandy, Utah at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
