Rex R. Hanson, a prominent Price businessman, died February 19, 1991 in a Price hospital.
Born August 30, 1920 in Fruitland, Idaho, son of Lorin and Lou Robinson Hanson. Married Christine Passarella September 2, 1944 in Price, Utah. Member of the Catholic Church. Graduated from Idaho State University, School of Pharmacy, Pocatello, Idaho, class of 1943. He began his professional career with Walgreen Drug. In 1944 he became manager of Walgreens in Price and held that position for 17 years. He later opened R. & C. Drug in 1960, naming the business after himself, and his wife Christine. In 1974 he sold R. & C. Drug and went to work as chief pharmacist at Carbon Hospital and later at Castleview Hospital. He retired November 14, 1986 after 43 years of faithful service to the community of Carbon County. He was a life member of Price Elks Lodge #1550. Enjoyed golf and traveling.Survived by his wife, Christine, Price; his mother, Lou Hanson Keay, Price; four sons and spouses, Bryant and Annette, New Albany, Indiana; Gary and Laurie, Price; James and Jennifer, Aurora, Colorado; Richard and Melanie, Chesapeake, Virginia; eight grandchildren.
Funeral mass Friday 10 a.m. Notre Dame De Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service Thursday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Chapel where friends may call Thursday and Friday prior to services. Committal service, Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Notre Dame Regional School, Price Ut 84501.
