Rex L. Childs, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, completed his mortal mission and was called home by his Father-in-Heaven on February 17, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Rex was born July 6, 1914 in Orangeville, Utah to Joseph Earnest and Catherine Dorthea Peterson Childs. He married Carma Mortensen September 26, 1942; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Rex was a member of the Wellington 1st Ward where he happily served his Lord and fellow man in various callings; including councelor in two bishoprics, and as Elders quorum president. He also served proudly on the Wellington City Council.He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carma, Wellington; sons, Paul R. and wife, Arletta Childs, Wellington; Kirk D. and wife, Leslie Childs, Price; daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Carol) McKean, Farmington; Mrs. Reid (Peggy) Bradshaw, Helper; Mrs. Craig (Dawna) Houskeeper, Carbonville; and Mrs. Rusty (Kerstine) Fausett, Price; brother, Max Childs, Huntington; sister, Mrs. Lowrey (Dorothy) Olsen, Ferron; also survived by 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. He will be sorely missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 20, 1991 at 1 p.m. in the old Wellington LDS Chapel. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.
