Hans Joachim Lang, our beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 16, 1991 after a battle with cancer.
Born May 31, 1931 in Darmstadt, Germany to Heinrich and Anna Maria Schreiner Lang. Married Brigitte Hauskeller on August 15, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Came to America in 1954 and served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. An active member of the LDS Church, he served in many callings including counselor in Ward bishopric for many years. He had been a Temple ordinance worker for the past nine years. He utilized his talents in his employment with the State of Utah - Department of Corrections for the past 15 years. Prior to that he was employed by Patrick Dry Goods Co. for 18 years. A very loving and giving man, he spent his life serving his family. He loved music and the outdoors.
Survived by his loving wife; his son, David John; three daughters, Mrs. Kelly (Evelyn) Howell; Mrs. David (Dorothy) Young; and Rachel Lang; six grandchildren; and his mother; all of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his father; and his sister, Marceline McLaughlin.

Funeral services on Wednesday, February 20th, at 12 noon, German-Speaking Ward, 650 East 100 South. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, on Tuesday evening 6-8 pm, and at the Ward on Wednesday, 11-11:45 am. Burial at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery.
