Lavera B. Evans Maxfield, age 88, passed away February 17, 1991 at her home after along illness.

She was born August 29, 1902 at East Midvale (Union), Utah to Charles and Ann Maria Easter Bailey Sharp Evans. She married Ellis Reed Maxfield on June 16, 1921 at East Midvale. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 20, 1922. He died July 7, 1970.She loved crocheting and all kinds of needle work and dress making. She had won many blue ribbons at county and state fairs. She was a member of the LDS Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Relief Society visiting teacher. Many times she had to ride horseback to do visiting teaching while living in Mt. Emmons, Utah.

She is survived by sons and daughters: Reed R. and wife Mildred Maxfield; Mrs. Marvin J. (Dorothy) Coulter; Mrs. W. Shirl (Susan) Hone, all of East Midvale; Linden C. and wife Wilma Maxfield, Heber City; and Mrs. Rulon W. (Donna) Dahl, Cottonwood; 21 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and brothers, Johnny, Evan, Earl, Artie and Lee; and two sisters, Ann, Florence and Zina.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 21, 1991, at 11:00 a.m. in the Midvalley LDS First Ward, 8060 South 615 East. Friends may call at MacKay LakeHills Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, on Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and at the church Thursday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Holladay Memorial Park.
