A Salt Lake man charged with stabbing another man in the heart pleaded not guilty Friday to second-degree murder.

Taniela Fangupo, 20, entered the plea before 3rd District Judge Homer Wilkinson, who scheduled a hearing for Sept. 9.Fangupo is accused of killing Mana Hautau, 28, during a fight July 9 at an all night party in a clubhouse behind the home at 1291 Iola Ave. Hautau was stabbed in the upper abdomen and heart with a butcher knife that had a 10-inch blade.
