Freshman guard Elroy Miller scored 20 points as Weber State University defeated Northern Arizona 93-77 in Big Sky Conference action Thursday night.
Weber State (11-13, 6-7) led by 26, 70-44, following an Aaron Bell layup with 10:07 left in regulation, but the Lumberjacks (4-20, 1-12) pulled to within 11 points four times in the final 3:37.The loss guaranteed Northern Arizona its third straight 20-loss season.
The Lumberjacks trailed by only 1, 11-10, following a Tobin Daily putback of a Corey Rogers miss with 14:30 left in the opening half. But the Wildcats outscored NAU 32-17 in the rest of the half and led 43-27 at the break.
Weber State had four other players in double figures, led by David Baldwin with 18 points. Al Hamilton scored 15, Jason Joe scored 14 and Bell had 10.
Northern Arizona was led by Rogers with 16 points, all of which came in the second half. Steve Williams added 14 for the Lumberjacks, David Wolfe had an even dozen and Ken Bosket had 10 points for Nortern Arizona.
