Not only students can benefit from craft facilities at Utah Valley Community College.
The college's Craft Center offers a fully equipped studio that can be used by any adult during open hours. Major studio areas include: ceramics, both hand-built and wheel-thrown; woodworking; stained glass; jewelry; a sign press; a buttonmaking machine; a table-loom weaving machine; tie-dyeing (batik); and a spin art T-shirt machine.The center offers a variety of workshops every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Various craft supplies and finished craft products, balloons and fresh flowers are for sale. Artists are on hand to assist patrons with their projects.
The Craft Center hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center is also open in the evening for workshops.
Students with current Wolverine Cards can use the facility at their leisure, using any tools and equipment. Community members can buy a semester membership for $10 and enjoy the same privileges.
