The Utah Valley Regional Family History Center will offer free classes in family history research Sunday, Feb. 24.
Located on the fourth floor of the Lee Library on the Brigham Young University campus, the center is open on the second and fourth Sundays of each month from 9 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.Computer courses offered Sunday will include the PAF (Personal Ancestry File) workshop for beginning IBM computer and PAF software, 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.; beginning Macintosh PAF, 11 a.m.; PAF enhanced features for IBM, 3 p.m.; and PAF using genealogy exchange on IBM, 4:30 p.m.
Regular courses available include beginning research phase I, 11 a.m.; beginning research phase II, 3 p.m.; using the IGI (International Genealogical Index), 5 p.m.; name submission, 2 p.m.; U.S. census records, 10 a.m.; Family History Library Catalog on computer, 2 p.m.; and IGI on computer, 9 a.m.
In addition, Don Norton will teach a class on "Composing a Personal History" at 4 p.m. Helen Clegg will complete the four-part "English Research" series at 3 p.m.
