The Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox completed their second trade in less than a week Friday, with the Pirates sending power-hitting utilityman Mike Diaz to Chicago for base-stealing outfielder Gary Redus.

Diaz, 28, hit 16 home runs in 241 at-bats in 1987, but has struggled this season since tearing ligaments in his left thumb during spring training.Redus, 32, who formerly played for Cincinnati and Philadelphia, was hitting .263 in 77 games with six home runs, 34 runs batted in and 26 stolen bases.
