Arne Nilsen Born January 3, 1914 in Drammen, Norway to Christoffer and Gudrun Holm Nilsen, our beloved Arne, "papa", and "bestefar," completed his earthly mission and went home to his Heavenly Father on February 15, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

His life was one of service and example. His faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ made him a true latter-day pioneer emigrating from Norway in 1953 to the Salt Lake Valley with his family; his wife Esther Elisabeth Kristiansen; and sons Kjell, Thor, and Helge and was blessed with Robert's birth in his new land. He enjoyed 52 wonderful years with his sweetheart whom he married in Norway on June 4, 1938 and solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they fulfilled an LDS mission to the Swedish Temple and served in the name-extraction program. Arne served in the Norwegian Branch Presidency and other church capacities. He retired from the University of Utah Printing Service in 1980. His reputation for honesty and integrity was well known by all who knew him.We rejoice in his life, we grieved in his illness and we bless our Saviour in his passing. His memory is treasured by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and 15 grandchildren; his brother, Gunvar Holm, Wisconsin, and his sister Signe Eriksen, Norway, family members and friends.
