In time for National Nutrition Month in March, Promise spread is offering a free nutrition booklet that includes recommendations for heart-healthy eating. The booklet features "salad-to-dessert" menu suggestions and simple-to-prepare recipes based upon the American Heart Association guidelines. The brochure also contains everyday food substitutions - such as using skim or 1 percent-fat milk instead of whole milk - which can help reduce blood cholesterol levels and thereby help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
