What's left of a small pickup truck rests crunched under a semitrailer truck following a collision Monday morning. Phyllis Ann Riggs, 27, was driving the pickup on 3900 South near 300 West about 8:10 a.m. when the truck hit an eastbound rig driven by Douglas Miller, 49, Iowa, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Robinson. It was not immediately apparent which direction the pickup was traveling. Riggs and her passenger, name unavailable, were taken to St. Mark's Hospital, where they were in good condition. The accident was one of two on icy 3900 South and one of several reported throughout the Salt Lake Valley, where melting snow left large patches of black ice.
