As Kirk Douglas recovers from injuries suffered in an air collision, a Hebrew university honored the 74-year-old actor and his wife for their lifelong commitment to the arts.
The American Friends of the Hebrew University bestowed its Scopus Award to the couple Saturday for their contributions to the arts and their work with mankind, said university spokesman Lee Solters.The actor's wife, Anne, and son Eric attended the black-tie gala to accept the award.
Eric Douglas said his father "is doing great. He's got a few black and blue marks. The bandages came off."
