A transient accused of robbing and beating another transient before throwing him off a moving train in Morgan County last April has been found competent to stand trial.

David Dillon, 34, is charged with second-degree felony attempted murder and third-degree felony aggravated assault for severely beating and robbing 38 year old Richard Roundy.Second District Judge Rodney Page set a March 27 trial date after ruling Friday that Dillon was competent to stand trial.

Dillon was found in New York state in May and brought back to Utah in late fall. He is being held in the Weber County Jail in lieu of an $11,000 bond.
