Called to active duty from Utah during the past week were 39 members of the Naval Reserve, seven members of the Air Force Reserve and 14 Utah Air National Guard members from the 151st Air Force Clinic.
The Naval reservists are to report for mobilization processing Monday and will be assigned to stateside hospitals. Air Force reservists called to active duty this week will remain at Hill Air Force Base to assist with food preparation and accommodations for troops staying temporarily at the base. Members of the 151st Clinic include doctors and other medical personnel and were put on active duty Friday. They are to be assigned to several domestic Air Force bases.The latest call-ups brings the number of Utahns from Reserve and National Guard components who are on active duty to approximately 2,800. About 1,000 Air Force personnel assigned to Hill Air Force Base are participating in Operation Desert Storm.
