Two Provo transients were sentenced to one to 15 years in the Utah State Prison Friday by 4th District Judge Ray M. Harding for second-degree robbery.

Magnus William Johnson, 37, and Clyde Daniel Swigart, 40, were convicted on the charges last month. In November, the two used a utility knife to rob an acquaintance of his wallet.Defense attorney John Musselman asked Harding to impose jail sentences and probation in lieu of prison because their past criminal history consisted mainly of misdemeanor offenses. But Harding said their repetitive criminal conduct and violent behavior justified the prison sentence.
