The textile and pottery works of artists Sharon Alderman and Susan Harris will be featured in the Atrium Gallery of the Salt Lake City main library, 209 E. 500 South, Feb. 22 through March 26.
Alderman came to Utah from Tulare, Calif., in 1970 and began weaving in March of that year and has been intensely involved with the art form ever since. She is currently seeking a graduate degree in architecture from the University of Utah.Harris, who holds a masters of fine art degree in ceramics from Utah State University, has taught at USU and has been the artist-in-residence at the Community Art Center, Alliance for the Varied Arts, Logan, since 1979. She has also served as the graduate curatorial and collections assistant at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at USU since 1987. In 1990 she was the guest instructor at the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri.
