A Pleasant Grove woman appeared Monday in 4th Circuit Court on homicide charges stemming from the Aug. 15 beating and stabbing death of her teenage son, court officials said.

Judge Robert Sumsion set a Sept. 1 preliminary hearing for Georgia Clements, 52, charged with second-degree murder in the death of her 17-year-old son, Martin.Sumsion set bail at $10,000. A clerk said the defendant was remanded to the custody of the American Fork Hospital psychiatric ward.

The body of the youth and his injured mother were found in their Pleasant Grove home several hours after investigators said Martin Clements was bludgeoned and stabbed.
