Before he was injured in an air crash this week, actor Kirk Douglas and his wife, Anne, donated $500,000 to a shelter for the homeless in downtown Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Mission will open in May and a new separate facility for women will be named for Anne. Douglas is expected to be released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this weekend after suffering scrapes and bruises when a helicopter he was riding in collided with a stunt plane Wednesday, killing two people.
