Lillian Maxfield Austin, 90, of Provo, died Wednesday, February 13, 1991 at the home of her son in Lindon.

She was born December 23, 1900 in Salt Lake City, daughter of John Franklin and Lucy Tripp Maxfield. She married Michael John Austin June 27, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He died October 11, 1977.After her marriage she loved in Holladay, Star Valley, Wyoming, and Provo. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many positions in all the organizations. She has served as both ward and stake Relief Society president and counselor in both ward and stake as well as being a teacher in all of the organizations.

Survivors include four sons and one daughter, Michael M. Austin, Los Angeles, Calif.; John M. Austin, Sandy; Richard M. Austin, Springville; Vaughan M. Austin, Lindon; and Mrs. Robert (Gaylia) Smoot, Orem; 27 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Keith Maxfield, Lyman, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth

Annette Austin and one grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, at 11 a.m. in the Edgemont 21st Ward Chapel, at 555 East 3230 North, Provo. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Provo, 85 East 300 South, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, at the ward chapel one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
