-Merald A. Sorenson, 67, died February 12, 1991 at his home in Richfield of heart failure.
Born January 25, 1924 in Salt Lake City to William Albert and Huldah Amanda Sorensen Sorenson. He married Shirley Dean Ence December 23, 1942 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a foreman with Georgia Pacific for several years. An avid sportsman. He was a veteran of the Army, World War II, where he served as Sgt. with the military police. He also served in Italy under the 91st Infantry in the Po Valley. He received two Battle Stars. He was an elder in the LDS Church and held many positions.He is survived by his wife, Richfield; three sons and four daughters, Gary Sorenson; Pat and husband Richard Lewis; Sherlene and husband David McCurdy, all Richfield; Ron and wife Brenda Sorenson, Annabella; Kim Sorenson, Riverdale; Zoe Ann and husband John Bergum, Austin, Utah; Vickie and husband Hal Parsons, Monroe; 25 grandchildren. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Andrea (Andy) Bergum.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16, 1991, at 1 p.m., in the Richfield 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 985 South 400 West, where friends may call on Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial in the Richfield City Cemetery with Military Rites by VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the Richfield Unit of the National Guard.
