Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Iva V. Allred Aiken, 91, died February 12, 1991 in a Nephi hospital of natural causes.
Born November 20, 1899 in Spring City, Utah, the youngest of 13 children of Reuben W. and Clara Alice Robinson Allred, Jr. She married Vero S. Aiken June 22, 1922 in the Manti LDS Temple. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church having served asYWMIA president, as Relief Society visiting teacher for 41 years, and Primary teacher for 20 years. She fulfilled an LDS stake mission while living in Las Vegas, Nevada for ten years. She was a faithful member of the Spring City Ward Choir and the Singing Mothers. She was a member of the Canal Creek Camp, DUP since it was organized in August, 1933, and served in every position and two years as a captain. She was honored by that organization as "Daughter of the Year," 1988-89. She was active in the Social Service Club as long as health permitted. She loved associating with her many friends.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years; children and spouses, Russell and Colleen Aiken, Las Vegas, Nev.; Yvonne A. and Kenneth Howell, Manti; Ross and Beverly Aiken, Taylorsville; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, and brothers and sisters.
Funeral services Friday, February 15, at 1 p.m., Spring City LDS Ward Chapel. Friends call two hours prior to services. Interment, Spring City Cemetery under direction of Ursenbach Funeral Home.
